Digital Commerce Finland Event Code of Conduct

At the core of Digital Commerce Finland’s (DCF) mission is creating opportunities for digital commerce professionals to connect, share knowledge, build expertise, and learn from our community. DCF organizes events to encourage open exchange of ideas and to support professional business development and personal growth.

We believe that ensuring a broad range of diverse perspectives is essential for thoughtful, open discussion, as well as for better decision-making and the development of best practices.

To this end, DCF is committed to ensuring that our events and gatherings are inclusive, respectful, productive, and harassment-free experiences for all participants—regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, expression, or nationality; physical status, mental abilities, skin color, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnic origin, national origin, marital or relationship status, pregnancy, religion, or any other characteristic protected by local laws.

Participation requirement

To participate in events organized by Digital Commerce Finland (DCF), all attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers are required to commit to complying with these guidelines (“Code of Conduct”). DCF reserves the exclusive right to enforce these rules.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

To support an environment that fosters community and positive connections, all participants at DCF events are expected to:

  • Be present and actively participate
  • Be mindful of your surroundings and fellow participants
  • Act respectfully toward all others, including event and venue staff
  • Help maintain an inclusive learning environment by being considerate of how much time you take (e.g. in discussions or Q&A sessions)
  • Conduct yourself in accordance with professional standards (including this Code of Conduct, your employer’s policies, and applicable laws)

UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR

  • Harassment, bullying, microaggressions, intimidation, and/or conduct that disrupts or diminishes another participant’s experience are not tolerated. Examples of unacceptable behavior include, but are not limited to:
    • halventava, syrjivä tai häiritsevä käytös tai puhe, mukaan lukien, mutta ei rajoittuen, henkilökohtaiset loukkaukset, seksistinen, rasistinen, homofobinen, transfobinen, ikään liittyvä tai asiaton kielenkäyttö tai mikä tahansa kieli, joka loukkaa tai halventaa henkilön ominaisuuksia
  • Derogatory, discriminatory, or harassing conduct or speech, including personal insults; sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ageist, or otherwise inappropriate language; or any language that demeans or offends personal characteristics
  • Inappropriate physical contact
  • Unwanted sexual attention, including sexual comments or jokes, or inappropriate touching
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
  • Sustained disruption, including during talks or discussions
  • Displaying sexual or violent material in presentations, discussions, informal settings, or on personal devices
  • Violence, threats of violence, or violent language directed at an individual or group
  • Bullying, including repeated verbal abuse; threatening, humiliating, or hostile behavior (verbal, non-verbal, or physical); or undermining someone’s performance
  • Theft or improper removal or possession of property
  • Use, distribution, sale, or transfer of illegal drugs
  • Any other unlawful activity or harassment not explicitly listed above

DCF reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to determine what constitutes unacceptable behavior and what actions to take in response.

CONSEQUENCES OF UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR

Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated at DCF events. Anyone asked by DCF staff or representatives to stop inappropriate conduct is expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior or fails to meet expected standards at any point during an event, DCF may take any action it deems appropriate, including removing the participant from the event without refund.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU EXPERIENCE OR WITNESS MISCONDUCT

If you experience or witness inappropriate behavior at a DCF event, or have any concerns, please report it to DCF staff as soon as possible.

AGREEMENT

By participating in a DCF event, I acknowledge and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. I understand that DCF may take any action it deems necessary, including removing me from the event without refund, if I fail to comply with these guidelines.
